Elle Macpherson is set to take over the intimates market, and here’s more proof. The supermodel turned designer is launching Obsidian, a high-end line for both men and women appearing this spring.
Her new designs—made from tulle, silk, and jacquard fabrics out of France, Japan, and Italy—will sell for $16 to $54 at Bendon Ltd.
“Obsidian is raw and sexy with a sophisticated edge,” says Elle. “My intention with the design was to encompass sophistication, style and fashion-forward design with an intense desirability. The name Obsidian comes from the naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as rock which I found on a recent holiday with friends. It has all the passion and life force of primordial raw energy and seemed a perfect inspiration for this new collection.”
With this news, it’s very safe to say she’ll be monopolizing our lingerie drawer.
