Have the Fall 2013 ad campaigns been taken over by the supers?
It would certainly appear so as this season’s cast of leading ladies make room for the return of yet another supermodel star— welcome, Gisele Bündchen!
That’s right, the world’s ‘most powerful supermodel’ has just debuted her first fashion campaign of the new season, as she lends her star power to Marc Jacobs’ Louis Vuitton ads. Donning a cropped black wig, the Brazilian bombshell joins fellow top models Isabeli Fontana, Carolyn Murphy and Karen Elson in the romantic scene captured this time around by photographer Steven Meisel.
Picking up where Jacobs’ elaborate boudoir-themed show left off, the fabulous foursome appear to be lounging about a hotel room in a slew of the collections’ Thirties-inspired wares, including silk night slips, fur coats and slinky velvet evening gowns. While gazing seductively into the camera, the models can’t help but look fabulous, albeit perhaps a bit bored, adding to the mystery and almost eerie quality of the photos— a feeling made that much stronger by the appearance of a hotel maid who cleans up around them.
Gisele of course, is not the only supermodel hitting the campaign trail this season. In the past week, we’ve seen the glorious return of everyone from Kate Moss, now posing as a brunette in Versace’s Fall ‘13 campaign, to Christy Turlington, who’s hit a hot streak with appearances for Jason Wu, Prada and Calvin Klein. Meanwhile, Naomi Campbell has been busying tearing up the runway once again, opening Versace’s Haute Couture show for the first time in 15-years in Paris on Sunday.
We said it once and we’ll say it again— expect to see big things from these fashion superstars; something tells us that these gorgeous women have only just begun to have their campaign fun!
