Are au naturale runways the trend of this season? By day three, we’d already seen not one, but three iterations of interesting runways: a hand-drawn sand platform at Jen Kao, dirt at Daniel Vosovic, and then gravel under the Highline at Edun. For the premiere collection under Sharon Wauchob, models including Rose Cordero, Kamila Filipcikova, and show opener and closer, Jac, strutted down the extra long catwalk in a selection of pieces that drew inspiration from the new modern Africa. While editors were unprepared and precariously kept their balance in heels, models luckily stomped down the catwalk in wedges to match the delicate dresses, geometric designs, and simple but elegant organic pieces. Post show, we spotted Rose waiting with friends for the bus across 23rd Street, on the way to Mayor Bloombergs’s Fashion Line - the 1 train to Lincoln Center. ~ Bianca Posterli
