The newest magazine in our grips is Above, which is entirely environmentally friendly from the recycled paper to the content inside. From a quick peek, the list of contributors is impressive—stylist Charlotte Stockdale, author and co-director Hans Ulrich Obrist, designer Stefano Pilati—but a closer look in the issue itself provides attachment. From the Stella McCartney article to the vintage shopping piece, Above serves to show that sustainable and ethical behavior are good for both you and the environment.
Plus, the models are in on the effort as well. This Summer ‘09 issue features Gisele Bündchen and her Ipanema flip-flops, because when you walk in the shoes of Gisele, you’re saving the rain forests with each step. And it wouldn’t be a green magazine without boasting Angela Lindvall’s actions toward saving the planet. The most eco-friendly model shares her beauty and lifestyle tips: Kangan water first thing in the morning, staying balanced with local farmer’s market products, and practicing Bodokon, a high energy form of martial arts.
