Green with Envy: Models in Pantone's Color of the Year, Emerald

Global authority on color, Pantone, has announced that emerald, the lively, radiant lush green is the Color of the Year for 2013.   It’s really no surprise to us as we’ve seen so many of our favorite models rocking the winning hue on the red carpet, runway and in the pages of magazines.  We even saw the color appearing in this season’s beauty looks.  For Kenzo’s Spring 2013 show, in addition to a canary yellow, models wore emerald green eye-shadow and nail polish.  Just recently for Michael Kors’ 2012 Holiday campaign, model Karmen Pedaru was head-to-toe in emerald, all the way down to a stunning emerald purse.

However, the  gem color sparkled especially bright on the red carpet this season.  Doutzen Kroes was perfection in a beaded emerald Elie Saab gown, at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, while Heidi Klum wore an emerald skin-tight mini Thomas Wylde number to her Project Runway Season 10 premiere.  But it was Natasha Poly and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, both in Gucci, that really stole the show.  We should really just call emerald, ”Gucci Green” at this point!    Either way, we couldn’t agree more with Pantone’s choice and it couldn’t be a better color for us to wear for the holidays!
