Gucci, and Missoni, and Fendi, Oh My!

Fashion rests for no one.

This weekend in Milan, designers continued to show their latest creations on the runways and Natalia Vodianova even made a surprise return. But she wasn’t the only news coming from Italia.

Gucci girl Natasha Poly opened up the slightly sporty show in an angelic white dress with cutouts, and Iekeliene Stange transitioned the collection into a deeper gray. While the majority of the collection showed a girl-takes-charge feel, complete with a few bold shoulders, select pieces had a subtle softness, such as the column dress that Freja Beha Erichsen wore to close.

New face Hannah Holman made her presence known in Milan, walking in Fendi and opening Missoni, followed by Hanne Gaby Odiele whose runway presence this year has been staggering. While the latter made layering an even bigger art form to learn, Abbey Lee Kershaw opened the former, followed by Anja Rubik, who brought Karl Lagerfeld’s delicate, almost lingerie-like pieces to life on the runway.

Jac continued her runway power as she opened and closed Etro’s Spring 2010 collection, featuring a power ranking of girls, including Anja, Karlie, Abbey Lee, and Freja. Get ready to love paisley and satin.

The men of Dolce & Gabbana must really love bloggers because they decided to give Tommy Ton and Bryan Boy their own laptops, front row and center. On the runway however, Iris Strubegger had her short cropped do pushed forward as she opened the show in pure elegant menswear, followed by Natasha, Edita Vilkeviciute, Mariacarla Boscono, Karlie Kloss, and Lily Donaldson in a dress that we’re sure she’d wear every other day if it came in black. The end finale, though, as Natasha led the girls in a one-piece suit parade? Perfection.
