Harley's Haunts

Recent graduate of New York University, girl on the scene, in demand model, and must-have DJ, Harley Viera Newton is taking over - for not only her modeling skills but her personality as well. She’s the unassuming girl next door who’s tapped into the scene and just a bit cooler than you, but in the nicest of ways. Harley shared a few of her favorite NYC haunts, so you too can channel her cool factor.

For an afternoon of culture, head to the American Museum of Natural History, followed by a shopping excursion to Tom Binns for accessories and a few hours of thrifting at The Garage at Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market. As for dining, Harley suggests the Mermaid Oyster Bar for their happy hour deal of $1 oysters, but for sushi, you must try Tomoe. Always on top of the newest locations, Harley’s already tested out the newest burger joint on the scene: Whitmans, and gives her approval. But most importantly, in an effort to bring your iPod up to speed, the model DJ suggested 15 songs you’ll immediately want to download.

  1. Searching For Someone Like You—Kitty Wells
  2. Fallin & Flying—Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart soundtrack)
  3. Stand Back—Stevie Nicks
  4. One Life Stand—Hot Chip
  5. Can’t Stop Now—Major Lazer
  6. Young Turks—Rod Stewart
  7. Come See About Me—Diana Ross & The Supremes
  8. I Can’t Wait—Nu Shooz
  9. Full Clip—Gangstarr
  10. Boy With the Arab Strap—Belle and Sebastian
  11. When My Time Comes—Dawes
  12. Animal—Miike Snow
