Heidi Klum And The Gang Hit The High Line And More Project Runway News!

Project Runway is turning the big 1-0 this year, and while it seems that so much has already been revealed about the all-important upcoming season- the Times Square premiere, Katie Holmes’ stint as a guest judge, Patricia Feild’s guest appearance-  we’re here to say that the best is yet to come!  To continue with the grand anniversary celebration, Lifetime has announced that they will transform a portion of the High Line in New York City into a virtual runway complete with a 20-foot long interactive installation!  The elevated park display will feature virtual commentary from Heidi Klum and her beloved judges Tim Gunn, Michael Kors, and Nina Garcia, which will be activated when someone passes by.  From Monday, July 16 to Thursday July 19th, fans are invited to strut their stuff at the High Line passageway located at Chelsea Market- between West 15th and West 16th Streets- and receive real-time virtual commentary from the runway masters themselves. The runway will be open on July 16 from 12-10, July 17 from 8am-12pm, and July 18 and 19 from 12pm-10pm.

The virtual runway is just the beginning though, as the kickoff event to the season 10 premiere on July 19 is the real cherry on top of this grand anniversary celebration!  The event will be held at the High Line on July 17, and will host a VIP private red-carpet event featuring Heidi and the other Project Runway cast members. Season 10 officially premieres on July 19 at 9pm/8c.
And, that’s not all! The series has also secured a new retail partnership with Lord & Taylor, after having spent the past few seasons working with e-commerce sponsors like Bluefly and Piperlime.  Similar to earlier seasons’ partnership with Macy’s, the show’s contestants will be able to incorporate Lord & Taylor accessories into their looks, while the final winner will enjoy the added benefit of having their collection sold by the retailer nationwide.  The department store will also host one of the competition’s ‘fashion challenges’ at their Fifth Avenue location, now set to air August 30.

Today also marks the release of the new Project Runway: The Show That Changed Fashion book, that is being feted at the Fifth Avenue Barnes & Noble flagship with a special book signing hosted by Heidi.  Since we couldn’t wait to pick up our copy and relive our favorite moments from the past nine seasons, we lso snagged some extra copies to give away next week, so check in next week and we’ll keep you posted!

Now, please excuse us as we perfect our runway walk for Queen Klum and the gang. We’ll see you in Chelsea!
