Heidi Klum arrived in New York on Wednesday, and as always she hit the ground running. After arriving at the airport to find that her luggage was lost, she called up her friend Michael Kors who was quick to lend her a long sleeve black mini dress that she wore to her luncheon at the Hudson Hotel to show off her new Wildlife for QVC pieces.
The collection is full of color and meant to be worn together, no matter if they match. The sales will begin when Heidi takes to the QVC airwaves on May 17th to unveil brightly colored watches, and necklaces, cuffs, and rings made from modern custom made gemstones. When asked if her kids help her design her pieces, she said that her oldest daughter particularly doesn’t like when she wears “dark things” so brighter color is always preferred.
Clearly Heidi had kids on the brain, since the next day she released her “Babies R Us” collection called Truly Scrumptious. Heidi is most definitely an expert at nursery decorating! She has two girls and two boys so after four nurseries you learn a thing or two about what kids like, as well as what’s pleasing to the parents.
Once her lost luggage was located, she was able to locate her custom Temperley dress along with Christian Louboutin shoes and Lorraine Schwartz necklace, and was honored at the 6th Annual DKMS Linked Against Blood Cancer Gala held last night at Cipriani Wall Street. She stepped out to support the fight against blood cancer and promote DKMS‘s mission of empowering people to take action, give bone marrow and save lives. But she wasn’t just there to wear a pretty dress, earlier that day she went to the Empire State Building to honor bone marrow doners and to “light” the building red and white in honor of the cause.
It’s been go-go-go but that doesn’t mean she misses a chance to interact with her friends and fans. The Allure covergirl asked her twitter community to tweet a photo of themselves reading the May issue so that she can retweet the photo and connect with her followers. You have until April 30 to grab the issue and show Heidi where you are reading it, so grab one and snap away!
