Heidi Klum loves getting dolled up for the Academy Awards, but she also knows how to throw one awesome Oscar party at home, too. With some help from her event planner Mindy Weiss, she’s put together some award-winning ideas on Heidi Klum on AOL that we can’t help but share.
For starters, you want to set the scene. Just because you’re not at the Academy Awards, doesn’t mean you can’t pretend to be!
- Have your guests walk down a mini red carpet as they arrive. You can also personalize a Walk of Fame with you guests names.
- Decorate your walls with movie posters of some films that have received the Best Picture award in the past.
- Have a very chic ballot for your guests to fill out before the ceremony begins. And of course you’ll need a big gold envelope with the word “…and the envelope please” written on it for guests to place their ballots.
Nothing brings people together as well as a spectacular menu. Choose a menu with a theme that reflects one of the Best Picture nominees. Here are the dishes that Heidi and Mindy suggest.

Lastly, and most importantly, don’t forget to dress up! It’s all about the sparkle, glamour and getting red carpet ready!
