Heidi Klum hardly needs props and elaborate makeup to create a breathtaking cover, but when you add soft old Hollywood curls and a gold suit to the supermodel’s skill, magic ensues.
For the the September 2010 issue of City magazine, Heidi worked with Rankin to channel actress and singer Marlene Dietrich - mixing their common German heritage with the supermodel’s posing power to embody the spirit and appearance of the performer. With the talent of makeup artist, Linda Hay, who hid Heidi’s eyebrows in order to replicate Marlene’s and the relationship between model and photographer, a 24-carat cover was created - welcoming the world to a gilded fall.
