People were packed in like sardines earlier today backstage at DKNY and after seeing the model show list we understand why. Major runway icons like Tati Cotliar, Bregje Heinen, Kelsey Van Mook, Sigrid Agren, and Fei Fei Sun were all rushing into hair and make-up, many of them coming directly from another show. While squeezing our way through the over-crowded make-up stations, we caught up with Simona Andrejic who was more than excited to talk about the collection. “I love working with DKNY because everytime they surprise me with new fresh collections. This collection really matches my style and I love the cute and feminine hats.” When we asked Simona to describe her personal style she was hesitant to give it a particular classification but said, “My mom makes amazing clothes; she’s not a designer but she makes clothes for me and I love to wear them with other brands like Zara. She actually made the jumpsuit that I’m wearing right now which I love very much.” And although Simona is happy to be going to London, Paris, and Milan after New York Fashion Week, she can’t wait to hang out with her friends from home after it’s all over and start taking ballet and fencing classes again.
Meanwhile, Sports Illustrated favorite, Jeisa Chiminazzo was in the midst of flipping through her Fashion Spot page on her iPad. “I like seeing my own page because the fans know more about what’s going on than I do. And they’re all very nice.” Although between her charming personality, breathtaking hazel eyes and stellar runway walk we can’t imagine there would be anything negative to say about this Brazilian beauty.
In desperate need of some new hair tips, we asked Sigrid Agren what her secret is for keeping her blonde locks so silky and shiny during a month of endless blowdrying, hairspraying, and other chemical treatments. “I just make sure to use a lot of conditioner everyday,” she said before darting off to wardrobe. ~ Sonia Evers
