We’re going to make a bold statement and declare that the Mercedes Benz Star Lounge has never looked better. Thanks to the move to Lincoln Center, designers and guests not only have more space to luxuriate in before and after shows, but also a supermodel designer catering to the aesthetics. Iman held court at the lounge on the first afternoon of Fashion Week, officially opening her new sanctuary. Dressed in a simple black jumpsuit, she entertained questions and relished in the culmination of her hard work and design sensibilities. Thanks to accents from her own home and Iman’s fabrics, along with personal images by David Bowie, Bruce Weber, and Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the space is truly memorable. With Iman’s fabrics from IMAN Home, the combination of animal prints and geometric designs catapulted the space from a simple lounge to a supermodel inspired retreat. This week, fashion insiders will be able to enjoy Iman’s inspirations, but she has a very specific designer in mind that she’d like to help on the interior design side. “Calvin Klein could use a bit of color,” she smiled. ~Bianca Posterli
