Do you recognize these two models? Don’t worry if you don’t, it took us a second as well. For their March editorial spread, Interview Magazine features Crystal Renn being institutionalized by Karolina Kurkova in everything high fashion from Stella McCartney to Celine. While at first hard to get past Steven Meisel’s disturbing imagery - could Crystal look any more deranged?! and Karolina more stoic? - upon closer inspection the fashion used in the spread is really quite beautiful. Crisp tailoring, an off-white color palette, and figure-flattering shapes (on Karolina, that is), grace each of the nine creepy images.
It goes without saying that pulling off such a dramatic fashion editorial isn’t easy; it requires much more than just a good pose and pretty face from the models, and a lot of patience to get the right shot. We couldn’t think of two better supermodels to take on such a daunting task.
