A funny thing happened when we were going through our calenders the other day. For the first time, we realized just how many models are born in the month of January. In fact, compared to just about every other month of the year, there are nearly double the amount of January model birthdays, which got us thinking, does being born in January boost one’s chances of becoming a top model, or is this all one big coincidence?
We spent some time doing a bit of research, and as it turns out, this isn’t the first time our little hypothesis has been put to the test. The so called “birth date effect” has been a hot button issue among scientists and statisticians alike in recent years, the basic premise behind it being that one’s birth month may indicate the likelihood of what job a person will end up with late in life.
Now we certainly aren’t scientists by any means, but based on our recent findings, we would argue that January is perhaps the month most likely to produce a supermodel relative to any other time of the year. Just look at the evidence: Christy Turlington, Kate Moss, Doutzen Kroes and Liu Wen all celebrate their birthdays this month and yet, despite being from different walks of life, have all reached top model success. And they aren’t the only ones! Nearly a dozen other top models were busy blowing out candles and unwrapping presents this month— a unique occurrence that makes us think there must be something in the water in the start to the year that helps produce the drop-dead gorgeous models that we follow every day. We can’t exactly prove our birthday theory yet, but mark our words, the January girls got it going on! Either way, we’re wishing all of the gorgeous stunners listed below a very happy birthday this month and don’t worry, we’ll be sure to alert the masses if we ever solve the mystery of the overwhelming amount of January model birthdays!
