Among the crowds of fashion insiders and photographers backstage at Custo Barcelona, Modelinia had the chance to catch up with close friends and roommates Evelina Mambetova and Inna Pilipenko. Much like every other New Yorker, they’re daydreaming about vacationing on warm sandy beaches. One of their favorite escapes is Turks and Caicos, but next on their list is the paradise of Mustique. It all sounded so alluring that it was hard not to ask if we could tag along.
The show itself felt like we could have been at a nightclub on a beach resort. Strobe lights and Tent-shaking music practically jolted us out of our seats as Antonella Graef took the runway. Almost everyone in the Tent was entranced by the music, including the models, who at times exposed a glimmer of a smile. Exotic prints, colorful furs, and metallics were in full swing for this collection. Leave it to Custo Barcelona to continuously produce outlandishly cool designs that leave fashion insiders speculating how to fit an aluminumesque jacket into their wardrobe. ~ Sonia Evers
