Hey Models of the Runway fans, it’s Kalyn here for thoughts on Week Two!
It was a “Pregnancy Challenge” this week, and the designers had to create a form-fitting, chic outfit for Rebecca Romijn, who was VERY pregnant with twins.
The models found out about this challenge when producers came into our loft with huge bellies for us to put on, and needless to say, we were all shocked. Kojii and Emarie had experience being pregnant, but the rest of us were in the dark. (Spoiler alert: Shirin ended up winning the challenge with Matar as her glowing, pregnant model.) Malvin lost the challenge with his “chicken-and-the egg” outfit, which was very conceptual, but a little too bizarre for the judges. His model, Valerie, was not picked by any other designers, so she had to say goodbye.
Model elimination was quite dramatic last night, with the winning designer swapping Matar for her first model, Ebony. Ramon was thinking about stealing Tanisha, which made Vanessa nervous, and nobody really wanted to be with Mitchell (my designer) after he sent Yousuzi down the runway practically naked last week, and this week was criticized for sloppy execution and messy work. Mitchell stole Fatma from Logan—she was so upset. Fatma had a killer crush on Logan and was, in her words, “boiling mad” that Mitchell stole her.
The competition is heating up for both the designers and the models. I can guarantee next week will be a fun one, but who will stay, and who will have to leave the runway? Find out next Thursday on Model’s of the Runway!
