Hey Project Runway and Models of the Runway followers! It’s Kalyn here to give you the scoop on Episode 4.
What a fun challenge for (most) of the models this week, as we were the clients! The designers were told to design something for us for a special industry event. We all got to have our say in what we wanted our designers to come up with, which caused problems between some teams, but made for a winning outfit for Tanisha. She knew exactly what she wanted in a three-piece suit and Althea executed it wonderfully, making her the winning model. Valerie was sent home last night for the second time after the black cocktail dress Qristyl designed for her was ripped apart on the runway. I felt terrible for Valerie… Heidi said the dress made her look 10 to 15 years older, “Which, in the model world, is like dog years.” Oy! No model wants to hear that! Valerie handled herself beautifully though, and when she wasn’t chosen by a designer at elimination, she exited gracefully and graciously.
After the runway day, we got to attend the industry event, which was held in a beautiful lounge overlooking downtown Los Angeles. We all had a wonderful time and got to connect with some amazing people. Everyone wore the outfits the designers made for us—except Kojii and Valerie, who were in the bottom three and were embarrassed to wear their outfits to the party and wore their own instead. The episode also included an introduction of the Dream Team, comprised of Tanisha, Lisa, and Vanessa. They discussed their wishes to be the last three models standing on the runway. The Dream Team might be expanded, though, with “newfound friends,” as hinted at during the cocktail party conversations.
