It’s Kalyn here with a look at Episode 5 of Models of the Runway.
Last night’s episode was filled with drama and tears as the competition heated up! The challenge for the designers this week was to make an outfit out of newspaper, so after a trip to the L.A. Times to gather materials, the designers created amazing creations for us to wear. This challenge was particularly tricky for the models since the outfits were made of delicate newspaper. We could not sit at all for the entire day, and to top it off, it was raining the day we were filming! Wet newsprint would not go over well on the runway!
After the designs went down the runway and were judged by Tommy Hilfiger, Eva Longoria Parker, Zoe Glassner, and Heidi. It was Irina (my designer!) who was deemed the winner, with her chic trench coat. It was so exciting to be paired with the winning designer! Johnny was sent home, and when it came time for elimination, Emarie wasn’t picked by a designer so she had to leave, much to the chagrin of the Dream Team, who were all in tears. The Dream Team was comprised first of just Vanessa, Tanisha, and Lisa, but then at some point Ebony and Emarie joined. I’m still not quite sure the meaning or motives of the Dream Team, but those girls always seemed to have drama surrounding them, which I tried to steer clear of.
