Anna Sui always puts on a show; her collection is always showcased in Lincoln Center’s biggest space, her front row is always bustling with celebrities, and her model show-list is record breaking. Karen Elson open and closed Anna Sui’s runway yesterday, followed by an impressive group of models, some of whom we haven’t seen at all this season. Jessica Stam and Behati Prinsloo were both a big surprise on the runway, and we were delighted to see Caroline Trentini, Karlie Kloss, and Joan Smalls walk as well.
Never one to follow trends, Anna Sui showcased a collection of busy prints, unique silhouettes, and just the right touch of Anna Sui bizarre. Circular and star-shaped spotlights brightened up the dark runway adding a hint of red carpet glam, and transporting us to a different, celebratory era. Indeed, the collection was all about that “extra touch” with glittery heels, 40s inspired hats, and juicy red lips that have us already revamping our current wardrobes.
