We ended our Tuesday night at the hopping downtown restaurant Beauty & Essex for a party celebrating Karen Elson’s Vintage America Collection for Nine West. Packed with fashion insiders and regular party-goers, we meandered our way around the dimly lit restaurant sipping on complimentary champagne and munching on everything from mini burgers to lobster pizza. While model attendees were slim to none, it was quite abuzz with celebrities like Mischa Barton and the gossip-stirring Lindsay Lohan.
Towards the end of the evening, Karen Elson took the stage to serenade us with songs from her upcoming album, set to drop next year. Even the celebrity crazed paparazzi seemed to calm down once Karen opened her mouth and graced the audience with her smooth, folky voice.
In the midst of our Fashion Week insomnia, a night spent listening to Karen Elson sing was a welcome and mellow change, and after hearing so many of her new songs we can’t wait to get our hands on the album! ~ Sonia Evers
