For fall, designers seem intent on using the theatrics of motion pictures to capture the storyline behind their otherworldly fall collections, and we for one just love a juicy story!
How lucky are we then that Salvatore Ferragamo’s fall collection provided the perfect inspiration for the brand’s latest campaign video featuring runway starlets Kate Moss and Karmen Pedaru. Told through the lens of fashion photographer Mikael Jansson, the video draws a contrast between Kate’s lethal sensuality and Karmen’s refined elegance for the grown up fairy tale. Encased under the gilded chandeliers of Berlin’s Russian embassy. the ad video explores the role play between Kate’s uber-sex appeal enveloped in flowy, silk dresses with plunging v-necks, and the brand’s restrained feminine tailoring shown in Karmen’s chic naval coat.
While both of these jaw-dropping beauties call to mind two strikingly different depictions of fall’s signature women, we can imagine they have more in common than it may appear- i.c. sophistication and timeless style. Sadly, we still have some time left until we can dive into those lacy peasant tops and nipped at the waist military toppers, so until then we’ll pass the time by perfecting our own seductive gaze a lá Queen Kate.
