It was only appropriate for Vogue to travel for Lakshmi Menon’s editorial in the May 2009 issue, because apparently New York is just not her city, as she thinks it’s “impossible to live in cities.” With her partner, photographer Prabuddha Dasgupta, she calls a cottage on a Goan hillside home, where the pair have lived for the past three years. A few of her favorite spots in Goa include hanging out at La Plage beach club, purchasing books at Literati, shopping at Rangeela, finding home goods at Fab India, and has visitors stay at the nearby hotel Nilaya. “I have no desire to move to Europe. Coming home is like a holiday for me now.” When she goes home, she really is going on holiday, since it can take up to two days to travel to New York!
