While we don’t mind a nice toning exercise like Pilates or yoga, some models like to kick it into high gear with a boxing work out.
Back in October Adriana Lima was seen giving uppercuts to her trainer in Miami, and also credits this workout to helping her get her body back post baby when she was getting in the ring at Aerospace High Performance Center in New York.
Candice Swanepoel is also a fan, saying that her strengthening boxing workouts help her to be able to manager her heavy bags while constantly traveling.
But Marisa Miller loves this workout so much she filmed an exclusive video for Sports Illustrated in 2008 when she was getting in shape before shooting the Swimsuit Issue.
“I’m really happy that I started boxing and training and doing this sport. It’s changed my body—I’m a lot tighter,” she said.
If you are thinking about getting into shape (aren’t we all after the holidays?) and think that a high-intensity workout like boxing is for you, here are some other supermodel workout facts that might encourage you to hop in the ring in the New Year.

Don’t think of boxing as just something that’s working your arms and hands. Those punches are coming from your core so expect to be toning abdominal, back, and lateral muscles will improve your posture.
-Footloose
Next time you see a boxing match, pay attention to the boxer’s feet. They never stop moving! Just because the punches are coming from the upper body, a boxers feet never stop moving, which improves agility and reaction timing.
-Self Defense
-Learning just a few key boxing moves can double as a self-defense method. Just being alert, on guard and ready in all situations is a key park of boxing, as well as defending yourself.
