Picture this: Jamie Bochert’s barreling down a hallway, clad in Lanvin. And Alber Elbaz is thrilled.
Meet the theme of the Spring 2010 ad campaign, which was just released, starring Jamie captured by Steven Meisel. “I thought maybe we need a bit of action,” said Alber. “She moved so fast, even the chandelier was moving with her.”
It’s certainly not the typical ad campaign, and you can’t even see Jamie’s full face in the images, but it’s without question a very new approach to the storied idea of ads. But then again, what is typical for Jamie? Alber fell in love with the brazen model after hearing a story in which she chased a robber for 12 blocks in Brooklyn, successfully stealing back her purse. “That’s the kind of girl I like,” said the designer. Go bold or go home.
