Lily Cole Is All Grown Up

We love Lily Cole. Her fiery locks and ethereal looks have had us obsessing for years, and in the latest issue of Interview (which hits newsstands December 15th) the doll-faced beauty bares her very grown-up sensibilities.

Since her discovery at 14, Lily has achieved the kind of success most models only dream about. But she’s made it clear that she isn’t interested in staying within the confines of the fashion industry. “It’s a very funny job. I think in some ways people kind of hate it, but most models recognize that it’s a pretty easy job to make a lot of money at in a relatively short time, and you get to travel the world and meet a lot of interesting people,” says Lily. “There are extreme highs and extreme lows. I think if it were as clear-cut as ‘models hate it,’ then they wouldn’t do it. I really enjoyed a lot of the actual aspects of it, but not enough to make it my primary job.”

With that kind of attitude, it’s obvious that Lily is anything but a one-trick pony. She pursued her passion for higher learning with studies at Cambridge and has had credible roles in a number of buzzworthy films, including The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. In the interview, Lily goes on to discuss acting, Heath Ledger, her love of Mark Rothko, and her qualms with minimalist interior design.
