Jill Stuart took her usually daytime sweet runway after hours this season presenting a darker more provocative collection full of coquettish dresses and sleek jackets. The color palette embraced the evening mood, featuring everything from plum purples to midnight blues that flattered the figures of industry favorites Lindsey Wixson, Daphne Groeneveld, and Suzie Bird. The makeup was kept minimal with only a swipe of deep purple across the eyes, while the hair was left down and seemingly air-dried.
Though many of this season’s designers are presenting heavy, more masculine collections, Jill Stuart’s runway was refreshingly feminine, reminding us that a good swing dress and figure-flattering trousers will never go out of style.
