Bravo Liya Kebede!
The supermodel was named one of the Time 100 - which situates her as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. She joins a very prestigious list, including world leaders like Barack Obama, media personalities like Oprah Winfrey, celebrities including Neil Patrick Harris, and creators like Steve Jobs.
Besides the huge accomplishment of earning a position in one of the hundred spots, Liya is the only model to do so. She’s profiled by Tom Ford, who is widely credited for beginning her career. “Liya’s work comes from a place of sincerity, and her beauty is much more than skin-deep,” said Tom of her life’s passion.
Between her dedication to The Liya Kebede Foundation, her children’s clothing line benefitting traditional weaving and sustainable economic development, her position as a Young Global Leader in the World Economic Forum, and her work to bring awareness to maternal, newborn and child mortality, it goes without saying that she is one of the most influential individuals in the world.
Interestingly enough, Marc Jacobs is on the only designer on the list as well.
