While previous years have seen celebrated photographers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Peter Lindbergh, Bruce Weber, and Patrick Demarchelier focus their lens on beauties including Elisa Sednaoui and Daria Werbowy to create the annual Pirelli calendar, 2012 is set to be Mario Sorrenti’s moment.
Original reports bequeathed the honor to Steven Meisel, but Jennifer Starr, who casts the calendar each year, set the record straight. Though the models have yet to be booked for the project, rumor has it that Anna Selezneva was handpicked! It’ll be an interesting follow up to last year’s calendar, which translated models into Greek and Roman gods, per the vision of Karl. Here’s hoping for a well varied mix of models, from high fashion regulars to Victoria’s Secret stunners.
