Manic Monday

And now, a note from our Fashion Correspondent at London Fashion Week, Camilla Morton:

Fashion Week is like speed dating.  You have a list of names - some you have heard of, some you have not, some you go with just simply ‘cos you’ve got a feeling about them.

Similar to speed dating, you only get a finite amount of time to find out everything about them, their likes, their dislikes, and if you will be their muse.  (All is equal in love and style).  With off schedule as well as on schedule, presentations at Mulberry and by Maria Grachvogel, exhibition stands, and TRAFFIC, there was no time for a false move.

Monday was a nightmare.  Julien to Marios to Jasper to Roksanda to Louise Goldin to Giles to Paul Smith to Issa to Stephen Jones. So where was the bit when you had time to a) get changed b) get something to eat?! Stephen Jones was backstage at Giles and went straight from the show to his opening at the V&A by tube! It’s not all air kissing and champagne flutes!

Around Roksanda, I started to levitate with anxiety as I wanted to meet my friends who had come over from Paris for Stephen’s opening, get back to my flat to doll up with my hat, and of course I didn’t want to miss the fashion beat.  Short of dividing myself in half, I had to chose getting the hat and arriving at my friends having changed in the back of my car, oh the glamour.  You think fashion girls are high maintenance? Think again! And don’t let them kid you, they need hours in the bathroom.  Wonder Woman has nothing on an editor during Fashion Week…
