As Tamara, the Queen of the mermaids, Gemma lures sailors with her magical voice, while singing My Jolly Sailor Bold. She explained her role in the movie by saying, [Tamara is a] “siren/mermaid who uses song and her sensuousness to lure the sailors and ultimately bring them to her depth. She’s kind of evil but alluring.” Clearly, Gemma’s pulls off the alluring role well, easily snagging the attention of her sailor - but we don’t want to ruin it all for you!
