We sense a model muse in the works!
The prince of prep first dressed street style favorite Jessica Stam this month for the Veuve Cliquot Polo Classic in a cropped white top and black pencil skirt, completed with cap toe pumps. When it came time for Thom Browne to present his first women’s resort collection, we weren’t surprised that he chose Jessica to show off his new looks. After all, her dark hair and bright eyes give just the right amount of edge to the lady-like collection. Thom feels that she brings a fresh, young sensibility to his clothing.
With layers of plaid and the classic preppy whale print paired with lace these pieces were definitely prim and proper, but they were not without some sass. Stam’s sexy attitude shines through in our favorite look that features a sunhat the size of an umbrella. The styling of the collection was maybe the best part. The white choker and bracelets worn throughout the 40-piece collection had a bit of a bondage vibe that added an intimidation factor to the clothes. Thom Browne is all about power dressing and Stam certainly has the confidence to pull off these over the top looks. With such a bold resort collection under his belt, we look forward to Browne’s spring show where we’re sure a spectacle is in order. We think we know who we can expect to see on the runway!
