Lorenzo Martone and Jules Kim’s swimwear collection, Nycked, already has the approval of more than a few model muses and fashion insiders. And with their sophomore collection, the brand snagged a fresh face to front their campaign, continuing the model appreciation we so adore. After seeing her on the runway as the new face of Nycked, Modelinia had to get to know Dierdre Reimold. Read on for details of her discovery story, plans for the remainder of summer, and why Nycked is the perfect swimsuit brand for her!
How were you get approached to be the face of campaign for Nycked?
My booker gave me a call and said that I was chosen to be the face of Nycked and gave me a brief overview of the designers and what the shoot was going to be like and I was stoked!
How does it feel to be part of a swimwear line that is just starting out yet already garnering so much attention?
It’s definitely exciting! I’ve never been a part of something like this before. The designers are so talented and after the shoot I knew that it was going to be a hit. I love working with them, we laugh and kid around so much.

Do you hope to continue working with Nyked as they grow as a brand?
Oh of course! Lorenzo and Jules’ work is amazing and during the shoot and at swim week we all had so much fun that it just makes the whole experience that much better. I loved it because every piece I put on I was like “Wow this is so cool; oh wait this is cooler!” It’s exciting swimwear.

Tell us a little about you! Where are you from?
I grew up in western Pennsylvania in a tiny town called Greenville! We have lots of county fields and Amish people.
Did you always want to become a model? How were you discovered?
I never thought much about modeling until I reached high school and a friend of mine submitted my pictures to agencies. Before then I was more about becoming a super athlete! Then a scout invited me up to NYC to give it a try and here I am today, so it was a good decision!

What’s your favorite summer trend?
My favorite summer trend is for sure being able to wear my ray bans until 9 pm everyday.

What do you usually look for in a bathing suit?
When I shop for swimsuits I always look for whatever is different- cool beads, chains, fringe, funky straps - anything that would get a double take/, I guess thats why Nycked and I get along so well!

What is your favorite piece from Nycked?
My favorite piece from Nycked is the white one piece that crosses all over the front. The suit itself is stunning, but once I heard Jules explaining the inspiration behind it, that took it to another level. That’s another reason why I love the collection -every piece has such a story behind it and I’m all about stories!

What do you plan to do for the rest of the summer?
The rest of my summer will include hunting for that perfect apartment, working of course and I’m dying to get back home so I can go wake boarding!

Who are some models that inspire you?
I’m inspired by models who represent all around healthy beauty and that athletic side too. Oh and anyone that smiles a lot!

How do you stay in shape?
To stay in shape I run a ton. Getting up in the morning and going anywhere from 3 to like 8 miles is relaxing for me - I’m addicted to it. I love all sports, so you’ll find me playing anything and everything especially basketball.
