Pencey came across our radar recently when they created an innovative video starring Jessica Hart for the Spring 2011 debut of Pencey Standard.
She danced about, flashed her memorable grin, and modeled a range of creations from the newest collection in a film that was both entertaining and forward thinking.
But something more happened behind the scenes.
Jessica and Pencey Standard decided to collaborate on a capsule collection designed by the model! Jessica’s already branched out into the world of design, thanks to her collaboration with General Pants, which spurned her first collection called Neon Hart. But Pencey Standard saw her beauty, street style sense, and creativity and raised the bar by inviting Jessica to create a capsule collection – Jessica Hart for Pencey Standard - which will debut in Spring 2012. “Jessica’s style embodies exactly what Pencey Standard and Pencey are all about,” explained Pencey creative director, Christina Minasian.
Her designs for Pencey Standard will serve as her first foray into the US market. And though she has a hard time describing her own personal style, we’re sure her effortless cool will easily shine through. “Pencey Standard is a cool, relaxed, causal brand. I am all about easy to wear pieces that can be dressed up or down. So I’m very excited to collaborate with them,” said Jessica of the partnership. Obviously, in addition to designing the line, Jessica will model the collection, showing the world just how to style her looks.
