Modelinia's Summer Reading List

We asked models which books are in their beach bags this summer. Here are 30 new titles to add to your must-read list!

	Sessilee Lopez My reading list is a bit embarrassing because I’m a sucker for those airport mystery authors like James Patterson, and Tess Grestien.
	Alyssa Miller I just finished reading The Help by Katherine Stockett which I loved, and I am just starting Freedom by Jonathan Frantzen, and so far it’s really good!
	Julia Kravets The Fountainhead - Just loaded it onto my iPhone last night. This is going to be a bittersweet experience of ruining my (just LASIKed) eyesight and gaining some profound philosophical insight of human nature. I’m excited!
	Jessica Pérez I want to finish reading La Isla Bajo el Mar by Isabel Allende, my favorite Hispanic author.
	Nicole Trunfio I am currently reading Candide by Voltaire, so I will be finishing that. Hemingway is one of my favorite writers, so I will definitely be re-reading The Garden of Eden or The Sun also Rises. I couldn’t think of a more perfect backdrop.
	Najla (One Model Management) I’m reading Yargo, but I can’t remember the author at the moment.
	Chrissy Teigen My summer reading list includes finishing up Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, followed by Tina Fey’s, Bossypants. Cannot wait for Bossypants!
	Gwen Lu Kenzaburo Oe; but I think it is more suitable for night. I will be busy with cameras on the beach during the day :P
	Constance Jablonski On my reading list I have the French detective story Le Papillion de Papier by Diane Wei Liang & La Deuxieme Vie de Fatima by Joanne and Gerry Dryansky.
	Michelle Alves Something light. Girl in Translation and the papers every day.
	Sophia Lie My reading will be The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat, by Oliver Sacks. Viva summertime!
	Liu Wen A friend recently gifted me the collective book of i-D’s covers from 1980-2010, so I want to take some time to look through all the creativity from the i-D team. I also have some Chinese literature that I am trying to finish!
	Anna Speckhart My reading list is just starting, but so far consists of What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains, Dance Dance Dance, and The Old Man and the Sea.
	Sophie Srej Paul Morand’s The Allure of Chanel & Diana Vreeland’s Allure
	Tatiana Pajkovic I am reading Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson, for the 3rd time, and Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - I’m old school :)
	Kelsey Close I want to finish reading The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami. I would love to just lay on the beach and read without any interruptions (preferably with a slushie in hand).
	Chantal Stafford-Abbott I’m just about to start reading Lolita.
	Carola Remer I’m reading Madeleine: Our Daughter’s Disappearance and the Continuing Search for Her. After I finish that I’ll just be reading tour books about the cities my family and I are going to visit!
	Marcia Mitchell A lot of Oscar Wilde… It sounds cliché but I find him to be hilarious.
	Kelly Mittendorf The most reading I’ve been able to do are my fellow ambassador’s blogs who have gone to other countries! Other than that, I’ve read some required reading for my English 101-102 class next year which include The Social Animal: The Hidden Sources of Love Character and Achievement by David Brooks, amongst others.
	Bekah Jenkins Water for Elephants is on my reading list for this summer as well as anything new from Nora Roberts or Charlaine Harris.
	Sara Ziff Right now I’m re-reading Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinksy.
	Quiana Grant My reading list include The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz, How to Get Out of Your Own Way by Tyrese Gibson, Super Rich by Russell Simmons, and my devotional book by Joyce Myers. I journal a lot so I’ll have that as well. Can’t wait:-))
	Samantha Basalari I’m currently reading Michael Chabon’s The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, my best friend recommended it to me and she has much better taste than I do, so I know it’s going to be good. I was going to save Anne Lamott’s Traveling Mercies for the plane, but I got too excited and already started. She’s very honest, I love her writing. First on my book queue for the future is David Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest. I really loved his commencement speech to Kenyon College, so I’ve been meaning to read the book for about five months. I have a hard time sticking with a book that is over 500 pages, so it will be a big accomplishment once I finally finish. Or start.
	Tiiu Kuik I just finished the Hunger Games trilogy and I was hooked, I read all 3 in 3 days. Now I’m reading Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and also SLOWLY trying to make my way through Beyond Good and Evil by Nietzsche.
	Genevieve Morton My reading list includes Paulo Coelho’s Veronika Decides to Die, as well as Unbroken: A World War II Story by Lauren Hillenbrand.
	Adina (One Model Management) I’m looking forward to having more time to read and can’t wait to read my friend David Gordon’s book The Serialist. I also wanna read Life by Keith Richards and probably something by Anais Nin.
	Byrdie Bell I just got an iPad so I’m obsessed with buying iBooks. Right now I’m reading Transcendentalist :The works of Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson. After that I’m planning to read The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner because it was written by my boyfriend’s great uncle and I haven’t read it yet!
	Katlin Aas On my reading list for now is the biography written by Kat Von D, High Voltage Tatoo.
	Erin Fee On my reading list will be Of Mice and Men and Catch 22, and of course the reading list will involve endless magazines too :)
