It’s rare to have the luxury of seeing top runway models standing in a presentation, but the stars aligned for us yesterday at Marios Schwab’s presentation for Halston. Mimicking the Grecian feel of the collection, Bonnie Chen, Hind Sahli, Kelsey Van Mook, So Young Kang and Georgie Badiel all stood stoically in lean, body-grazing gowns, conservative cocktail dresses and chunky fur outerwear.
Models have often described presentations as being their least favorite part of Fashion Week (no surprise there), but these pros didn’t show so much as a sign of a toe cramp as they stood being ogled by an overcrowded room in Chelsea. And even though the collection lacked significant depth or volume, just seeing Kelsey Van Mook showcase clothing for longer than that brief second when she blows by us on the runway was enough to make this one of our favorite presentations yet. ~ Sonia Evers
