Models of the Runway Begins Again!

Models of the Runway fans, are you ready to rock & roll? It’s Brittany here to give you the skinny on the Season 7 premiere of Project Runway and the Season 2 premiere of Models of the Runway!

Let me say, what a perfect start for the show! The first challenge was a chance for the designers to really show the judges and America what they’re made of! They were taken to Central Park and instructed to choose five fabrics. From there, they were told to create a piece that really “suits” them and their “style” and “personality.” Holly (who was paired with Emilio), Kristina (who was with Seth Aaron), Alison (with Anthony), Kelly (Christiane), Elizaveta (Ping), and I (Jesus) were the first lucky (or should I say unlucky for some of us?) six to stand on the runway in front of the judges. When Nina said I looked like a “giant chocolate Hershey bar,” I definitely thought it was over for me. But when all was said and done, Christiane was the last remaining designer on the runway and was sent home. Christiane’s model, Kelly, was the first to go home at elimination, possibly due to the fact that every designer chose their exact same model from the beginning challenge. It was sad to have our first model go home because we only had a short time to get to know her.

On a positive note, Emilio was the winner of the first challenge! He definitely deserved it. That dress was flirty, cute, and very creative. I think any girl would have loved to own that dress. Holly made the dress even better because she really worked it down the runway with her strong walk!

At Heidi Chat, Heidi surprised us with the news that we were going to a runway coach. We all were a little iffy about it because we had all walked in high-end designer shows before and we felt our ego’s slowly sink to the floor. Anastassia Khozissova pointed out a lot of things that were wrong with our walks, and we all really did learn something from it. I am glad Heidi sent us to Anastassia because it’ s extremely important to be able to work the clothes for our designers.

Be sure to stick around for more amazing designs to come, with a small side of drama… Stay tuned for next week when the designers make the models a tad bit “itchy.”

XO,
Brittany

P.S.: If you want to learn How to Walk in High Heels just like the models, Anastassia will teach you how in our videos!
