Models of the Runway Partner Up

Hey, Models of the Runway fans. This week Brittany is back to give you all the deets from last night’s episode!

And so the drama begins!

The challenge this week was the “partners” challenge you usually see in every season. Woohoo! As a designer you’re not always going to be working on your own and you will need to learn to take ideas and critiques from other people as well, so it was a great chance for the designers to get the chance to help each other out. Some of the stronger designers got paired with other strong designers and a couple strong designers got paired with weaker designers, so the teams were all mixed up! When all was said and done, Anthony and Ping were left on the runway. The judges were bored of Ping draping fabrics to create her looks and she was sent home.

Mila was the winner of the challenge and she definitely deserved it—hands down! Never have I ever seen anything like the suit she created, not only on Project Runway, but anywhere. She did a more than fabulous job, and I was very happy for her and Lorena. Jay was again a winner (not the challenge winner), but they loved his “less than look” that he pulled together last minute. This challenge saw some very creative designs—this season is really proving to be one of the best!

In Models of the Runway, Megan took a harsh smack to the ego when all the girls commented on her throwing Ping under the bus on the stage. Personally, I really didn’t think it was a big deal what she did, because she was trying to defend Jesse and didn’t want him to get sent home, but at the same time hugging her afterward and saying what she said was a little hypocritical. She is still young (as am I), but a little less experienced; she’ll grow from this and learn what to do and what not to do in future situations. Sophia was sent home this week and she was more than excited to go! I was pretty excited Jesus picked me again (love you, Jesus!), so I was more than pleased to be staying! We were all very happy, though, that Sophia was happy to go, and hey, if you don’t want to be here, please leave so that the models who want to be here can be here!

Overall, it was a great challenge and a great week! We were lucky two models and two designers didn’t get sent home! Let the drama continue!

XO,
Brittany
