Models Share Their Secrets to Remaining Calm Backstage

Even when the crew says it’s relatively calm, there is never anything calm about the backstage before a fashion show. Hairdryers are blowing. Foundation is being applied. Reporters are pushing and shoving. Cameras are flashing. And in the midst of it all, the models are sitting calm, collected, and focused for the upcoming show.

How on earth do they do it?!

“You learn every year. The first and second year I tried to come with high heels which was not the best thing. So now I come and I put on my robe and my flip flops and relax and concentrate,” said Izabel Goulart who’s walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for the past six years. But not all of this year’s Victoria’s Secret models have walked so many years in a row.

“In comparison to Fashion Week this is pretty easy because it’s just one show,” said Jacquelyn Jablonski, who’s in her sophomore year with Victoria’s Secret. Indeed, Jacquelyn as well as many of the other girls are used to doing five to six shows a day during Fashion Week.

Lindsay Ellingson however, has the calm, collected aura down to a T. “Last year I was kind of stressed so this year I came prepared,” the blonde Bombshell told us. “I brought my own peanut butter and jelly sandwich because it’s something that really calms me down. I also have homeopathic stress reliever drops that I’ve used a few times as well as some yoga breathing.”

Even with all their personal relaxation methods, we’re still blown away by how they manage to remain stress free amidst the bustle. Then again, we’re not talking about just anyone here, we’re talking about the Victoria’s Secret Angels - the most professional and experienced models in the industry. We could all benefit from tips from these beauties.
