Emotions were high Thursday night as editors, executives, stylists, celebrities, and the good old-fashioned crazies we’ve come to know and love crowded into the Tents at Bryant Park one last time.
Tommy girls and boys marched to a U2/Taylor Swift mashup in the designer’s classic American digs, infused this time with a refreshing spunk and a chic twist on East Coast preppy style. Accordingly, the models included some of the most promising newcomers in the industry. Frida Gustavsson, Dorothea Barth Jorgensen, Jac, Mirte Maas, Tati Cotliar, and Jacquelyn Jablonski brought their youthful energy to the mix, while girls like Chanel Iman, Edita Vilkeviciute, Liu Wen, and show closer Kasia Struss walked with confidence in this semi-historic moment.
After the models did their final strut, Tommy Hilfiger came out to address the energetic crowd. “Thank you, Fern Mallis,” the designer said. “And thank you, Bryant Park, for hosting us for 18 years.” That’s it for Midtown, model lovers; see you at Lincoln Center! ~ Tim Mitchell
