It’s raining cats and dogs! Or so it was last night at an event sponsored by the American Society for the Prevention to Cruelty to Animals and True Religion Jeans. Digital pups and felines were projected down the wall as fashion insiders and models galore pranced into the Frank Gehry-designed IAC building on a dog paw-printed carpet.
It was a night of dancing, h’or dourves, and a silent auction, all to raise money and awareness for the ASPCA, America’s oldest humane society. Up for sale were a bevy of covetable prizes, from sports, music, and movie memorabilia to our personal favorite: two tickets to Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2010 show! Brooklyn Decker, dressed in French Connection and Calvin Klein, served as the evening’s honorary chair. After spending some serious time on the dance floor, we caught up with the Sports Illustrated beauty and she shared her thoughts on the occasion.
“It’s all about inspiring young people tonight,” she said before gushing about Billy-Jean, her year-and-a-half old English bulldog. “They asked me to help out and I was more than willing to be onboard.”

Joining Brooklyn were models Lonneke Engel, Alyssa Miller, Michelle Bushwell, and Tiiu Kuik, who couldn’t help but smile when asked about her cockapoo, Bailey. “She’s my antidepressant,” the towering Estonian confessed. “I’m planning to adopt another one!”
By the end of the night we couldn’t decide who we loved more, the models or the heartwarmingly cute rescue dogs that trotted about with ease receiving all the hugs and belly rubs they deserve. ~Tim Mitchell
