Kate Moss by Nick Knight
Between all of the magazine covers he’s shot and his website, SHOWstudio, we’re kind of in love with the amount of Nick Knight that’s in our lives.
But during London Fashion Week this September, we’ll have even more of the famed photographer. He’s bringing an exhibit called “SHOWstudio: Fashion Revolution” to the Somerset House that is set to cause viewers to question the normal view of fashion images. And he’s bringing in some very important friends like Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Gareth Pugh, Kate Moss, and Björk.
“We are in the midst of a revolution in fashion imagery,” Nick said. “Moving away from illustration and stills photography, we are now entering the restless world of interactive, self-created, digital-imaging: accessible, downloadable, and constantly changing. This is what interests me. Working with the very top fashion creators, this show will open up the whole process of fashion to literally everyone, instead of just an informed few.”
The exhibit will include 100 images from Nick of London’s “beau monde”; models, actors, musicians and artists, as well as a specially created set of films commissioned for the exhibit by SHOWstudio, and will have a studio open for use.
“SHOWstudio: Fashion Revolution” will be on view at Somerset House from September 18 to December 22, 2009.
