Now and Then: Candice Swanepoel Has a Cindy Moment in Vogue Spain!

You don’t need us to tell you that the ’90s are hot right now!  So hot in fact, that they’ve just landed one of the world’s most stunning faces, Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel, to model one of the era’s most iconic looks: high-waisted denim cut-offs and crop tops of course! Appearing in the April issue of Vogue Spain, the South African stunner is pulling out at all of the sexy stops this month, as she puts her best er, assets on full display for the retro-glam editorial spread captured by Mariano Vivanco. Like the bombshell that she is, Candice rocks the beloved denim shorts of our past with ease, giving a cheeky performance in designs by Chanel, Balmain and Michael Kors among others.

But wait, is it just us, or does this sexy spread look a little familiar?  Yes, when it comes to the denim shorts of yesteryear, lets not forget the all-American super who started it all: Cindy Crawford! Back in the day, Cindy took the down-to-earth style piece to new heights, rocking her cut-offs everywhere from the pages of Vogue to that legendary Pepsi commercial. Even today, the original queen of short shorts is still doing what she does best, taking her favorite pairs to every corner of the Earth— most recently to Hawaii for a family getaway.

Seeing as how we’re in a #ThrowbackThursday state of mind today, we couldn’t resist taking a trip down memory lane and reliving a little of the magic that was Cindy’s denim-clad ’90s heyday.  Needless to say, both Cindy and Candice have raised the cut-off bar in their own right.  From the ’90s to today, these are two supermodels who know the meaning of simplistic beauty!
