Always a model-filled charity event, New Yorkers for Children celebrated the kick-off to the Spring dinner dance, A Fool’s Fete, with Akris on Tuesday night at the boutique on the Upper East Side. Through a slew of socials, models including Tiiu Kuik, Ariel Dade, Summer Rayne Oakes, and Oluchi Onweagba showed their support for the children.
Summer Rayne was doing double duty that evening - bringing her love for not only the kids, but also two other efforts close to her heart. The model activist was wearing a “trunk-painted” dress, yes, trunk as in elephants, by Prophetik to benefit the Elephant Art and Conservation Project. The elephant artist in question? His name is Ging Gaow. In addition to her dress, Summer Rayne’s accessories held their own message. The sustainably-harvested African blackwood cuff and hand-wrought African blackwood beads - both by a.d. schwarz - paired with a horn ring by Lisa Linhardt focus on the importance of preserving the forest resources, an initiative that Summer supports with her colleague Allan Schwarz in Mozambique.
By the way, we completely fell in love with Michelle Buswell’s grey jumpsuit that evening, and you should too. If you’re looking for the perfect jumpsuit for fancier affairs, we highly suggest you begin to shop for this style. Plus, it’s model-approved, since we spotted Tyra Banks wearing the exact same outfit on America’s Next Top Model!
