If you happened to stroll down Christopher Street at the exact right time on Wednesday night, you would have been afforded a glimpse of Georgia May Jagger and Ally Hilfiger chatting outside A Man & A Woman. Before the friends headed into the store to celebrate the debut of Ally’s new line with Nary Manivong, NAHM, they languished outside, enjoying the city’s spring weather, which finally made an appearance.

Dressed in a crushed velvet sheath from the line, Georgia was there to support her bestie, Ally, and toast the latest creations for the fashion world. ”She’s one of my oldest greatest friends,” Georgia said of her connection to Ally. “I’ve known her since we were really young, but we’ve become friends, really good friends the last few years. Basically our parents lived next to each other.”

With her own experience in design thanks to her collaboration with Hudson Jeans, Georgia and Ally regularly chat about inspiration and collections. “Actually, yesterday we were both drawing dresses, maxis, because, I don’t know, I think I’m going to be [designing] with her. I don’t know if I’m supposed to be saying that!” she grinned. “I love it; she’s such a creative person. She has so many great ideas. She just knows how to pick colors that go with fabrics. She’s got it all down and I’m so proud of her and she deserves everything.” But of all the pieces in the collection, Georgia’s lusting after everything crushed velvet. She’s already placed her own personal order which includes slips and rusty colored velvet, so we’d suggest purchasing the same.

Though she’s spent the past year in the city, as it turns out, Miss Jagger is leaving the island of Manhattan for a new adventure. “I actually just got into university in London for September, but I’m going to photography school.” She’s always had that specific creative outlet in mind, making her next move more than perfect. Good luck at university Georgia!
