Before the real madness of hair and makeup began, we popped backstage at Luca Luca to hang out with the Revlon team and Gucci Westman. Immediately upon arrival, we ran into Yulia Lobova in a cheetah print fur coat, who showed us the contents of her brand new bright red Miu Miu bag, including a tarot book, comp card, and of course, her trusty Blackberry. With a quick moment in makeup, models were transformed into dramatic beauties with “really red” lips from Revlon’s Color Stay Lipliner, Super Lustrous Lipstick, and Matte Lipstick. A late last minute arrival came thanks to Suzie Bird who made it into hair and makeup with just enough time to spare before the show began.
In the front of house, Raul Melgoza hosted a highly impressive collection of models in the front row, showing their support for the Luca Luca designer. But it was Carol Alt who had Raul on his toes. “I’m looking for something new and different! I’m waiting for the designers to strike me - to slap me across the face, surprise me! It’s been a couple of fashion seasons and I haven’t seen any new takes on old things.” Hopefully with the woodland inspiration and Little Red Riding sentiments, she found just that.
Post show we grabbed a moment with Petra Nemcova, who (unlike some brides) was more than willing to talk about her wedding dress of choice. “I’ve known Georgina [Chapman] and Keren [Craig] for so long and I love their dresses. Their dresses just make you feel so feminine, so beautiful. It was a natural choice. I have to talk to them more about it, but they said once I know dates to come over and discuss everything. Once I know the venue, I’ll know the style!” Petra, you made a stunning choice in Marchesa, we say. ~ Bianca Posterli
