On the Courts with Hilary

Yesterday, Modelinia was lucky enough to have the chance to hang out with Hilary Rhoda at her photo shoot for the September cover of Ocean Drive magazine. Post work, the Maryland-born beauty changed into her white maxi James Perse dress—which she just bought in the Hamptons and is kind of obsessed with—and began talking about her new love of tennis.

“I used to live in Rye and we belonged to this club out there. It’s like 30 minutes away, so I’ve been driving out there and we’ve been getting a tennis pro. And I play at Midtown Tennis here because they have a clay court. It’s the most convenient one. I started playing in summer camp. I would go from swim practice to tennis, so it was seven hours total during the day. I hadn’t played in so long. I’m so sore right now because I was playing my heart out last night. It’s an amazing workout.”

So in case you’re in need of a summer workout, take a note from Hilary and hit a few balls on the court. Tennis is in now, didn’t you know? After the photo shoot, Hilary headed to the David Yurman cocktail party on the jewelry brand’s roof, where models like Du Juan, Selita Ebanks, and Arlenis Sosa—the face of the new campaign—celebrated summer and the gorgeous weather that’s finally come to NYC.
