With September just around the corner, one would think that Carine Roitfeld would be staying away from additional side projects and dedicating her creative genius solely to her soon-to-be released CR Fashion Book. However, that’s doesn’t seem to be the case as the ex-French Vogue editor has reportedly lent her talents to V Magazine for the styling of three separate covers and an inside editorial for the “Youth Quake Issue.”
While an early Carine-styled cover is exciting enough considering we are all impatiently counting down the days until CR is finally revealed, what is even more thrilling is the news that V’s ‘Youth Quake’ is taking us back to the era of the cover model! Well, models in this case, as the glossy is said to feature a good helping of the runway type including, Ava Smith, Thairine Garcia, Stef van der Laan, Katie Nescher, and Daniela Braga.

Don’t expect to be satisfied with just one of the three major covers though, because this is not your average one-look issue. For the first cover, the famed stylist featured the girls in incredibly large, architectural coats in pop-art hues from Rei Kawakubo’s “New Silhouette” for Comme des Garcons. An alternate cover played with techy graphic prints reminiscent of a more fashionable Star Wars set. Each issue will also include an inside editorial of the cover girls chatting with Derek Blasberg about their lives as models-something we personally can’t wait to get out hands on!
Incredible beauty aside, what these cover girls do share in common is their sleek and chic hairstyles that pay tribute to Vidal Sassoon’s famous cut, which is also honored in a reprint of a vintage feature of the iconic hair stylist in the issue.
All three covers of “The Youth Quake” issue will hit newsstands July 5, and something tells us one Carine cover just won’t be enough!
