#NYFW Twitpics Day 3!

As was the case with the first two days, day 3 of #NYFW did not disappoint on social media!  Our favorite models took to their various accounts to keep us updated on the night they had, and what a night it was!  Many of our favorite girls (think: Lindsay Ellingson, Harley Viera-Newtown, and Hilary Rhoda to name a few) showed off their glitzy outfits for the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party held at the Plaza.  Even if you weren’t at the star-studded party, it’s easy to see there was no shortage of high fashion!  See what else happened during #NYFW Day 3 in the slideshow below!

#NYFW Street Style: Day 3 with Soo Joo, Samantha and Tilda!

Soo Joo & Kim Sung (Photos courtesy of Models Jam)

Street style in its purest form is meant to look uncomplicated. The effort we may or may not put into our outfits on an average day may vary but there is no question that Fashion Week is an exception. Fashionistas flood the streets to seen and be seen so “peacocking” in our newest threads to be expected. It would be foolish to run the risk of a failed attempt at “blasé-faire” unless you are Soo Joo and Tilda Lindstam who master the laid back look.

Soo Joo spices up a pattered dress with a pair of ankle-high stripe socks, a black chocker necklace and colorful kicks. Tilda plays with proportions in a cropped loose-fitted top and high-waisted jeans. Her casual cool style belt and tassel sandals add a nice vintage touch. Regardless of how much planning went into their street style ensembles their laid back look proves that sometimes less is more. Read the rest of this entry »

On the Scene: Inside the 2nd Annual Fashion Media Awards and Carine Roitfeld’s Bazaar Icons Bash!

We doubt the fashion crowd found much time to sleep last night, as New York City played host to handful of the week’s most buzzed-about parties and events.

Kicking things off at at the Park Hotel, the Daily Front Row staged it’s second annual Fashion Media Awards, which called upon some of the biggest names in the industry!  Hosted by model-of-the-moment Gigi Hadid, the FMAs set out to honor some of the most influential voices in the media, including model honorees Naomi Campbell (TV Personality of the Year) and Kate Upton (Social Media Model of the Year). The Face producer  stunned in an Azzedine Alaïa caged halter crop top and mini skirt, all the while flaunting her fabulous new pixie cut.  Upon accepting her award, Naomi gushed about her love of mentoring young models and how proud she was of “her girls.” Kate on the other hand, remained surprisingly covered up for the industry affair, opting for a demure white dress with scalloped sleeves and strappy gold heels.

Of course, Kate wasn’t the only social media savvy model gracing the scene.  Up-and-comers Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin were also on hand for the occasion where the former had the honor of presenting LOVE magazine editor Katie Grand with the International Magazine of the Year Award.  On the red carpet, Hailey revealed that she often turns to her pal Kendall for modeling advice, as “she’s a little older and has more experience with modeling than I do. So, if I’m going to anyone for advice, it’s her.”

Fellow A-list guests included Christy Turlington, Lindsey Wixson, Alessandra Ambrosio, Liu Wen, Jessica Hart, Coco Rocha and Shanina Shaik.

#NYFW Street Style: Day 3 with Karlie, Devon and Caroline!

Karlie Kloss (Photo courtesy of Models Jam)

So far Fashion Week SS15 has been a whirlwind of a week and we’re still going strong (maybe our feet aren’t!) Our friends at Models Jam spotted Caroline Brasch Nielsen and Karlie Kloss powering through this not so lazy Saturday in their most stylish ensembles. We never considered track-like-pants to be chic until seeing them on Karlie who pulls off the athletic look with no sweat. We’re into Caroline’s one-shoulder flower along with her gorgeous red Chanel statement bag. Adding a low key element into the mix she threw on a pair of sneakers, which gives the ensemble a nice feminine edge. Devon Windsor is also feeling the flower power with her whimsical airy dress paired with black combat boots–to add some tom boy edge. Pairing this comfy dress with a small Chanel messenger bag is just the right amount of chic before she hits the streets. Sneakers seem to be the ‘it’ item and we for one couldn’t be happier! Hanging up those heels for some kicks–sign us up! Read the rest of this entry »

Modelinia AM Reads: Watch Cara Delevingne Belt Out Prince’s “Kiss” on Stage

Up until last year, Tom Ford absolutely forbid the taking of any photographs at his shows, releasing only a smattering of images to various print publications in the months before his clothes arrived in stores. Now, the designer is taking his web presence a step further by live-streaming his show for the first time ever! ~ Fashionista

The third issue of Miss Vogue - the younger, but just as well-dressed sister of Vogue - is here, with the “New Model Army” Malaika Firth, Hollie-May Saker and Matilda Lowther taking to the cover. Inside, three of the most sought-after young starlets of the moment – Kylie Jenner, Suki Waterhouse and Ashley Graham – reveal all in a series of exclusive interviews.  Get a sneak peek at the new model army in action here! ~ Vogue UK

Can your foundation actually help you take better selfies?  According to Dior, the answer is “yes!” The brand’s new Diorskin Star foundation has been created with what the brand calls a pioneering new formula, which uses ‘light-bursting’ technology specifically engineered to help women look good in photos. ~ Telegraph

Andreja Pejic has joined the main boards at The Society Mangement, which currently houses such other talents as Adriana Lima, Kendall Jenner, Lindsey Wixson and Liu Wen.  The model, who recently underwent a sex reassignment surgery, has opened up about her transition to the New York Times, discussing everything from her decision to sign to a women’s only agency  to the road ahead. ~ New York Times

Shupette, the holiday makeup line inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette, has been unveiled. Shu Uemura conceived the line along with Largerfeld, and it includes eye shadows in shades inspired by Choupette’s eyes, false eyelashes, glitter and more. The best part is probably the packaging, which includes sketches of Choupette done by Lagerfeld himself! ~ WWD

Style.com redesigned its website to make it more streamlined and mobile-friendly. There will be increased coverage, as well as a new “shop” section, a “culture channel” and year-round street style coverage. Now we can stalk our favorite models beyond fashion week. More Cara Delevingne anyone? ~ Style.com

Cara Delevingne‘s modeling career may be hotter than ever, but that hasn’t stopped her from trying to add another slash to her resume. The supermodel recently hinted a move into the music industry and judging by this video we have of her performing on stage, we’d say she’s set to become Billboard’s next big star! ~ Modelinia
