On the Scene: The New York Fashion Week Parties Kick Off With Jennifer Fisher, Christian Siriano and More!

The most fashionable week of the year is finally here: New York Fashion Week. Not only does this entail the most expertly produced and styled shows, backstage craziness and countless model sightings… it also means it’s time to party! This season’s social calendar has already started off with a bang with some of our favorite models popping up at Wednesday night’s most talked-about events.

Ahead of today’s official runway kickoff, supermodels Joan Smalls, Anne V and Hilary Rhoda stopped by Jennifer Fisher’s NYC Flagship Opening Party, joining the designer and such A-list guests as Leandra Medine and Victor Cruz, for an exclusive cocktail celebration.  As always, Joan looked ready to hit the runway, stepping out in a printed Proenza Schouler dress and accessories by Jennifer Fisher, while Hilary opted for denim overalls worn over a barely-there bra top.

Meanwhile, at Dom Perignon’s launch of Limited Edition by Iris Van Herpen, Anja Rubik stole the show in a metallic tie-waist gown by the designer, while Coco Rocha joined her friend Christian Siriano in celebrating the launch of his new fragrance, Silhouette, which she is also the face of.

Is Kendall Jenner the Next Model-Turned-Big-Screen Star?

The Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation doesn’t hit theaters until February 13, 2015, but we’ve already shifted our focus to the sequel.  Or rather, the possible A-lister starring in it.

Rumor has it that reality TV star-turned-legit model Kendall Jenner is currently in talks to star in the second installment of the film series: Fifty Shades Darker.  Like many a model before her, the 18-year-old is looking to get into the acting game, and lucky for her, she’s already caugth the eye of a major Hollywood director.  According to Grazia magazine, Sam Taylor-Johnson, the director of the trilogy’s first installment, is a huge fan of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and has her eyes set on Kendall.

“She’s fascinated by her and expressed interest in her appearing in the first film but it didn’t happen,” a source close to the director told Grazia. ‘It wouldn’t be a major role but would certainly be a foot in the door of Hollywood.”  The meeting between studio execs and Kendall is said to have gone “really well,” though Kendall will reportedly not sign on until Johnson is confirmed as the director.

Meanwhile, the up-and-comer is currently busy gearing up for her second New York Fashion Week, having been spotted out at castings with fellow celeb-turned-model Hailey Baldwin earlier this week.  Of course, we’ll just have to wait to see which top-tier shows Kendall booked this season when fashion week officially kicks off tomorrow!  Stay tuned — there’s so much more to come!

The Models Left Little to the Imagination at the 2014 GQ Men of the Years Awards

What does one wear to the annual GQ Men of the Year Awards? Apparently, something that leaves very little to the imagination.

Joining the likes of Bradley Cooper, Pharrell Williams, Jonah Hill and Kimye, supermodels Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn and Lara Stone hit the red carpet at the star-studded event in London on Tuesday night, where they flaunted their enviable figures in sheer overlays, sexy cutouts and ultra-high hemlines.

Cara looked particularly risque strutting the red carpet in her navy Burberry Prorsum ensemble that consisted of little more than a sheer overlay, high-waisted panties and peep-toe booties.  The Vogue cover girl, who was on hand for the evening to present Pharrell Williams with the Solo Artist of the Year award, toughened up her look with vamp berry lip and glossy retro waves.  Oh and a gold toothpick!

UPDATE: Cara Delevingne Promises More Music to Come

Cara Delevingne‘s modeling career may be hotter than ever, but that hasn’t stopped her from trying to add another slash to her resume.

After enjoying a considerable push in her acting career thanks to roles in such buzzed about films as “The Face of an Angel,” “London Fields,” and “Pan,” the Burberry model appears to be buckling down on her singing career, or so we can only assume looking at the model’s somewhat ominous Instagram from this weekend.

“It’s only the beginning…,” remarked Cara alongside a photo of herself singing onstage the Red Moon Band at New York’s legendary club The Bitter End. The supermodel performed an especially soulful rendition of Prince’s “Kiss” — the video of which is now available below for your viewing pleasure!

Of course, there’s no knowing what this means for Cara’s multifaceted career just yet.  While the Vogue cover girl was said to have swapped this summer’s Glastonbury Festival in favor of “plotting her own singing career” with a meeting at Simon Cowell’s London offices back in June, she previously told The Guardian that she wouldn’t dive into music until she had the time saying: “I can’t just here and there do recording sessions, you’ve got to stop and you get rid of everything, all the shit that’s going on around you and actually lock yourself away and do it.”

For now, we’ll simply have to wait and take pleasure in her countless campaigns, movies, and (hopefully) runway appearances this season.  As for the rest, only time will tell.

Watch Cara in all of her beautiful singing glory in the video below!
